Peace be with you
Mon Dec 24, 2007 at 06:26:07 AM PDT
It was often tradition in war time for hostilities to suspend during the christmas holiday. So let's declare a cessation of candidate flame wars for one day only. The previously scheduled bloodbath will return soon enough.
Merry Christmas, kossacks! Have a holly, jolly! Snuggle with your loved ones and remember all those in harms way. Give peace on earth a chance and celebrate the season of giving. Let all the crap go for one day and try to love one another.
Whether you believe or not, take the day for what it could be and just grab your nearest love one and say "Peace be with you."
You'll feel better. Merry Christmas, peace be with you and Happy New Year!"
And for the little kiddies in all of us, here is government spending I approve of:

Things I know
Fri Aug 10, 2007 at 04:37:54 PM PDT
I know it's Friday.
I know Bush sucks.
I know David Broder will soon publish a column letting us know that Bush would have had his predicted bounce but Broder himself underestimated the inability of the Democrats to act in a sane, serious, and centrist way by giving Bush everything he wants.
I know Richard Cohen will publish a column to tell us that after much thought and many tears he has concluded that no Democrat can unite the country, so we must elect a Republican in 2008.
I know Cheney wants to attack Iran.
I know that fear is exhausting.
I know that anger is empowering.
I know my vacation can't get here soon enough.
Karl Rove linked to Don Siegelman prosecution w/ update
Fri Jun 01, 2007 at 11:51:37 AM PDT
Adam Zagorin has a new article up on Time magazine, and it's a scorcher. Seems a witness has come forward to say that Rove may have been behind the Siegelman prosecution in Alabama.
Don Siegelman was the former Democratic governor of Alabama convicted in 2006 of bribery and conspiracy and faces thirty years in prison. But today Zagorin reports a twist in this tale.
Now Karl Rove, the President's top political strategist, has been implicated in the controversy. A longtime Republican lawyer in Alabama swears she heard a top GOP operative in the state say that Rove "had spoken with the Department of Justice" about "pursuing" Siegelman, with help from two of Alabama's U.S. attorneys.
Zagorin identifies this lawyer as Dana Jill Simpson. On May 21 she filed an affadavit and Time has a copy.

Harris Beats Nelson -- Leads 54% to 45%
Thursday, October 05, 2006
TAMPA, FL- Congresswoman Katherine Harris, the Republican candidate for the United States Senate, soundly defeated Bill Nelson this evening by a 54% to 45% margin in the straw poll conducted at the Lakeland Bi-Annual Politics in the Park. The Harris campaign continues to build momentum, engendering tremendous grassroots support throughout the state with a pro-growth, pro-family message that resonates across the political spectrum.
Congresswoman Harris commented, "I appreciate the strong support of a majority of voters who are disillusioned with Bill Nelson's lack of leadership and his record of voting against Florida's best interests. I will fight for Florida in the United States Senate."

Fred Phelps is coming to PA
Wed Oct 04, 2006 at 04:09:21 AM PDT
The Westboro Baptist Church has announce its members are coming to Pennsylvania to protest the funerals of the five little girls killed in the Amish School Shootings.
It seems they didn't like Ed Rendell's position on their insane protests at US military funerals. Holding signs that say things like "God hates Fags" members of the Westboro Baptist Church protest US soldiers funerals because they claim god is punishing the US for tolerating homosexuality.

The top Story on MSNBC W/ Poll!
Wed Jun 21, 2006 at 12:03:04 PM PDT
The top story on MSNBC right now is about the possibilty of a devastating earthquake along the San Andreas fault.
Earthquake
It's a nice piece about how scientists think the SoCal region is long overdue for a sizable earthquake. I've decided to archive it here.
When the earthquake hits I want documentation when someone in this worthless administration trots out to tell us:
I don't think anybody anticipated an earthquake of this magnitude in California

I needed to share. My seven year old son is learning to retell stories in school. Tonight he choose to tell me about 3 historical figures that he found to be "good" people.
I waited to hear about Spiderman or Batman or Yu-Gi-Oh. I thought I might have to launch in to the whole real not real speech again. But to my surprise my son told me that the three people who impressed him the most were:
Franklin Delano Roosevelt
Martin Luther King, Jr
Jackie Robinson
